I was flipping through my various media sources and came across this article in OnLine Spin. The title of the article is “I’m Getting Married — And Social Media Is Helping.” Joe Marchese, who is President of socialvibe and the author of the article, goes on to explain how social media tools are assisting with the whole marriage process.

I was jealous of his use of Facebook to gather family and friend’s phone numbers and mailing addresses. I remember that process (my side of the family) being very painful and riddled with plenty of misinformation. He also points out the benefit of iTunes Genius and Pandora to assist with a play list for the reception and Twitter to help him set up the honeymoom reservations in Dubai.
None of this is terribly new or interesting except for the fact that the use of social media is mainstream and defines the new work flow. The up and coming audience for the photography products and services is using these tools as the starting point to coordinate and synthesize information. This is another very good example of why we all (both large and small businesses) need to embrace the various forms of social media so that we/you don’t miss out on an opportunity or possibly a missed communication because you were not plugged into the right media portal.
