Relationships, Relationships, Relationships . . .

Everyone knows the real estate mantra: Location, Location. Location. I think it’s important, especially in a difficult economic environment, to remember that we are in a “people business” and therefore our mantra should be: Relationships, Relationships, Relationships.

In business today we can focus too much on mass marketing, voicemail and electronic correspondence. It’s easy to forget that the best way to form truly great customer relationships is through a personal connection. It doesn’t matter whether you run a large or small studio, the basis for success is the same: consistently great customer service delivered with a personal touch.

Whether large or small, you want every customer experience to be the best it can be. Even a seemingly minor detail can help in the aggregate, building towards a significant positive overall experience.

A recent example of this was when a client called wanting to know how to add a customized message of appreciation to her invoices. Just a small step, but hopefully one in a series of many that will result in better customer relationships.

In the event you want to tighten up your branding and client appreciation details we have included a couple of P1 Actions below that can help you with this.

There are two ways to customize your invoice. First, you can create a full length logo for the top of your invoices. Second, you are able to add a message to the bottom of your invoices.

To add a full length logo to your invoices first create the logo in a graphic editing program. For best results the image will need to be 7.25 inches wide by .85 inches tall. You will then need to save the file into a folder accessible everywhere on your network. I recommend using the PhotoOne directory.

Once you have finished creating and saving the file follow these steps to get the logo to work in PhotoOne:

1) Go to Setup>Invoice>Invoice Logo
2) Click the 2nd tab “Replace the text at the top of your invoice with a 7.25” x .85” logo”
3) If you are on a workstation computer then click “Choose a folder somewhere on your network” and select the folder the image was saved in. If you are on the main computer Click “Use the PhotoOne folder on this PC”
4) Click “Select an Image” and double click the image you want to use
5) Click “Save”
6) Go to Setup>Invoice>Invoice
7) Choose the 2nd bullet: “Laser/inkjet full width logo (with form lines)”
8) Save

Your invoice should now contain your full length logo!

Now to add a message at the bottom of your invoice:

1) Go to Setup>Invoice>Invoice
2) Go to the Miscellaneous tab
3) Click the […] button in the upper right hand corner
4) From here you can either Edit the GEN code message or you can add a new message by clicking Add.
5) Save out of all the screens when you are done.

Now you have an invoice with your logo and a custom message!

These two P1 Actions are not game changers, but they are the details that lead to better experiences with your clients and help with your overall branding.
