If you are using our studio management software, your workflow is probably already efficient and reliable to the point where you can focus your energy on marketing to your clients.
Most often reaching out to one’s clients is in the form of an email campaign that you can easily launch from within PhotoOne software. While it may be easy for you to personalize and send your message, you also have to make it easy for your clients to receive the email for the campaign to be a success.
We need to review a short list of Federal Trade Commission Laws that you must follow:
1. You are required in your email to give recipients an opt-out method to quit receiving emails if that’s what they want to do.
The very easiest way to do this is to simply add a line to each of your PhotoOne email templates that says: “If you no longer wish to receive emails from us, please reply to this email with the subject line of REMOVE.” Then when you get an email from them saying “REMOVE” just delete their email address from their customer record. If your email is an image on your web site, you’ll still need to have a way for them to be removed, your web designer or IT person can help you with that.
2. You are prohibitted from using deceptive subject lines.
Simply put, don’t have the subject line read “Free Photos” if your email doesn’t have something about free photos in it.
3. You are required to identify commercial email as an advertisement and include the sender’s valid physical postal address.
Each of your email templates must have your valid physical postal address. If your email is a picture on your website, you need be sure to include your address on the image.
